I think your first set of ascended gear will take a while to get (still probably not as bad as anything in WoW) but outside of that gearing for power is pretty good in GW2 with respecting your time. I personally think some of the map achievement stuff does not do a great job of respecting the players' time though. 13.
This one can be considered Hardcore due to the maps, meta events design. - Part of Fire, the second xpack also the most popular and beloved one due to Mounts. This one offers you 4 basic mounts, a hidden griffon mount plus the racing mount and the ultimate flying mount both required Living World which you can farm gold and buy each episodes.
No, you get more hero points from completing hero point challenges. You need all core specializations trained to use the elite specs anyway. You can get more points in the HoT maps. each hero challenge gives 10 points. no, unlike other games, respeccing is not a thing and isnt even needed in gw2. To use elite specs you are required to complete

The servers don't matter much, we all play on two "megaservers" - one for NA, one for EU. The only thing were it is relevant right now is the "PvP environment" World vs.. World vs. World (WvW for short), and even that will change. + you can switch your homeworld later on. Gw2 basically has two regions: NA and EU.

Pick a spec or ability set and unlock it completely (unless locked due to level restrictions). It is possible to stay on core specs and not use elite specs, but usually elite specs are more powerful. You can adjust your build any time outside of combat, so you can experiment a lot if you like to. This ^^. #9.
